Whether you’re on a long trip around Utah and trying to save money, or your wife has kicked you out of the house for the night, at some point most men wind up sleeping in their car. Making sure that you’re in the right type of vehicle and prepared is absolutely essential in getting a good nights sleep inside of your car. At Henry Day Ford, we recommend sleeping in the back of the Ford C-Max. Not only is this one of the more fuel efficient cars in our arsenal here in Utah, but it has the ability to fold down the seats and leave you with all the space you could need.
Once you get into your Ford C-Max, there are a couple of things you need to be sure to do. The first is to park in a secure location, there’s nothing worse than waking up with a boot on your tire, or without your pants (especially if you didn’t go to sleep that way). The second tip is to make sure that you get an adequate amount of privacy. Depending on whether or not you have your windows on your C-Max tinted, making sure that people can’t walk by and watch you sleep is extremely important. Ideally you could use a car cover, not only does this increase your privacy, but it also insulates your car keeping it warm during the cold Utah winter. However, during the summer this is not advised, especially here in Utah.
Finally, the last suggestion is to crack your windows. Sleeping in your C-Max may be comfortable, however, if you keep the windows shut tight with the doors locked, you’re bound to wake up feeling hot and sweaty with condensation all over the windows. Sleeping in your Ford C-Max can be a fun adventure, but make sure you follow the proper legal and safety precautions to keep yourself comfortable.
