According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, approximately 30,000 lives were lost on America’s highways in 2009. These traffic crashes often cause debilitating injuries and are responsible for countless Utah deaths each year. To help address this issue, the Ford Motor Company and individual local Ford dealers provide up-to-date safety recalls, protecting Ford owners.
Recently, Ford recalled a total of 746,842 vehicles, including the 2014 Ford Focus, 2014 Ford Escape and 2015 Lincoln MKC. These automobiles Resistant Control Module, a central processing unit that ensures the cars’ electrical and mechanical parts are running properly, may crack in very humid weather.
The vehicles’ circuits on the printed circuit board may also short, which could cause a malfunction in the frontal air bags and side airbags. Luckily, Ford Motor Company notified every dealer of the recall immediately, preventing potential occupant injury or harm.
Utah locals who own one of these vehicles can contact their Utah Ford dealer to learn how their Resistant Control Module can be replaced, free of charge. Individual’s printed circuit board can also be evaluated, pro bono. Here at Henry Day Ford, Utah’s Best of State New Auto Dealer, we go out of our way to ensure you arrive to your destination safely.
