From Utah to the farthest reaches of the East Coast, the Ford Motor Company has managed to accomplish some pretty astounding feats of automotive manufacturing in its 112-year history.
From the creation of America’s favorite pickup truck in the F150 to the opening of various production plants all over the country, the leader in global auto fabrication has just about seen and done it all.
That said, Ford’s never managed to accomplish one goal, in particular—sell one million cars with EcoBoost engines in the United States in a single year. Well, as is the case with just about everything Ford does, if it’s worth doing, it’ll eventually happen.
Yup, you can see where this is going—though having proven to be a bit of a stumbling block in past years, Ford’s now well on its way to hitting that highly coveted million-sale mark.
How? Well, according to auto analysts, savvy marketing, new government fuel economy regulations and a growing concern for more efficient engine performance have made the EcoBoost a better option for more motorists now than ever before.
In fact, reports Michael Martinez of The Detroit News, “Through October, EcoBoost sales have risen 46 percent to 819,683 compared to 2014. So far this year, EcoBoost engines account for 78 percent of Escape sales, 64 percent of F150 sales and 43 percent of Fusion sales.”
