There’s fast, and then there’s Ford Performance fast.
Cars like the Ford Focus and Ford F150 are synonymous with cars that get the job done and are also fun to drive, but sometimes standard speeds aren’t enough for Ford motor enthusiasts. So, the car company decided to up the ante by offering power packages for EcoBoost and V8 Mustangs from 2015 and newer. The new performance packages will make you faster than any other car in your West Valley City, Utah neighborhood.
For the Mustang with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, the new power package will give you 70 lb.-ft more of torque and 25 extra horsepower. This means that you’ll now be driving in a 335 horsepower Mustang that’s friendly to the environment and your wallet the next time you fill your tank.
The Mustang GT comes with three power packages for the V8 engine. This is the first time Ford has offered more than one performance package for a single powertrain application. The first package offers a new and unique performance calibration and high-low air filter which will give you more horsepower and torque than you could ever ask for. The second package has a cold air intake, 87-millimeter throttle body and intake adapter that came straight from the Shelby GT350 Mustang.
The third package brings your Mustang GT up to a 5.0 liter V8 engine, which gives your car a grand total of 7,500 rpm. To put that in perspective, a 2001 Lamborghini Murcielago also has 7,500 rpm.
“Ford Performance Parts is a key part of our product strategy,” Doug White, the manager for Ford Performance Parts, said. “Mustang is all about performance, and we know our customers look to us for performance options that are both 50-state-compliant and warranty-friendly.”
