Debunking Hybrid Myths

When hybrid versions of our favorite Ford cars started to emerge in the early 2000’s, they brought about some curiosity. For those early adopters in Utah that dove right into a hybrid, they seem to love their cars. For those in Utah that decided to stick with a more traditional vehicle, they might have come to their own conclusions, based on some all too common myths. At Henry Day Ford, we want to debunk those hybrid vehicle myths. Here are some commonly misunderstood assumptions about hybrids, as well as a list of the best hybrid cars that Ford has to offer. With a range from the Fusion hybrid to the C-MAX, you can’t go wrong.

Myths

  • Hybrids are slow.  The Ford C-MAX recently defeated a competing hybrid car in the Hybrid Games, easily winning the semi-truck passing challenge.
  • Hybrids require more maintenance. When your Ford engine is only running half of the time, it will actually require less maintenance. And for those worried about the battery life, don’t worry. While the battery is where most of the cost of the car is going, it will outlast the life of the car itself.
  • Hybrids are too small. Another myth busted by the C-MAX. The Ford C-MAX has a spacious interior with enough room to accommodate up to five passengers.
